Commenting after voting for the Budget, following successful negotiations earlier this week, Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Scotland, Tavish Scott said:
"Last week's GDP figures showed the desperate state of the economy. We know from these figures that Scotland is likely now to be in both a deeper and longer recession than the rest of the UK.
"That is why Liberal Democrats worked constructively to secure an economic recovery plan with long term benefits.
"Scotland must fund a new Forth crossing and road and rail projects across the country. Our involvement in this Budget has opened up ways to make that happen."
