Jean Davis, who stood at the 2005 Westminster election, is the prospective candidate for the constituency of Nan Eileanan an Iar.

Jean Davis said:

"I am honoured to be selected by local members and confirmed by the Scottish Party as the prospective candidate for this election. Never has it been more important to have a vision for the future for these islands and to encourage local people to believe they have a say in a sustainable future here."

"Labour are in meltdown and Gordon Brown has lost his moral compass. They are out of touch with the electorate as demonstrated this week in u-turns on MP expenses and on the Ghurkhas. The thirty-year anniversary of Thatcherism should remind us of what the Tories truly are. The SNP whilst spinning on local decision-making are micromanaging to a degree never seen before and are imposing central decisions on us here. They are in any event an irrelevance at Westminster and will remain so for the foreseeable future."
