Commenting on the first Fraser of Allander economic commentary of 2010, warning of the danger of a "double-dip" recession, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:
"The Fraser of Allander commentary shows clear concern that the recession in Scotland has been deeper and longer under the SNP than first thought.
"The main casualties have been manufacturing and investment in infrastructure. The SNP did not heed the serious warning, given 18 months ago, that they needed to have a clear long term view in supporting industry, sort out the confusion over the Scottish Futures Trust and protect jobs.
"Instead they have been obsessed with tactical positioning against the UK Government and have taken their eye well and truly off the Scottish economic ball."
