Commenting on the launch of the Government's Active Nation campaign, Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott said:
"I am conducting my own investigation into sport and leisure in Scotland.
"We know that most children aren't getting the PE they need in school, but there is also plenty we can do to help adults get fit and stay fit.
"I want to find out what is stopping people getting the exercise they need.
"I know from personal experience that it's difficult to fit in exercise when you're already juggling a busy job, travel and a family.
"Scotland can't afford to be the sick man of Europe anymore."
