Commenting on the GDP figures released today, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis said:

"The credibility of John Swinney's latest economic forecast lasted precisely one day. These sobering GDP figures are met yet again with more complacency from SNP Ministers.

"The fact is there is now a chasm between SNP rhetoric and the lack of any meaningful economic policy from their Government. This has the real potential of setting the Scottish economy back considerably."
